I guess the picture pretty much depicts what i want to say in this entry. Yes, i've gotten my own copy of Carnival Ride yesterday! Well, i would've wanted to blog about something else more interesting but i guess it's pretty meaningless to talk about the weather and school. Trust me, you would've rather let me talk about this album cause i'm having terrible mood swings lately and nothing amuses me. Alrighty, let's move back to the topic! Like i said previously, i ain't a fan of this album cover cause it looks more like it belong to the 80s or a go-go girl photoshoot, whichever deem suit. I mean, Carrie Underwood is SO SO gorgeous but they somehow need to use all the yellow-y shawl to confuse the attention and the dress, or half dress with jeans (whatever), don't get me started. But thankfully, though very predictable, the album is FANTASTIC. It's more country, as compared to her monster selling debut effort "Some Hearts", which critics thought is pretty much a "pop" album. The opening track "Flat on The Floor" is a freaking awesome surprise because it just grab your attention immediately. A perfect follow-up to her crossover hit "Before He Cheat". The sassy girl is still up and kicking in this album y'all! This track is going to be a hit if release because it's just so damn good! It's like country sweetie mix with the hood girl attitude, or Dolly Parton meets Aretha Franklin. That's just my opinion though, hahaha. After a series of incontrolable head bobbing and fingers snapping, we were introduced to the second track, "All-American Girl". Very country, very simple, very country, very close to the heart - i like! Track 10 is a cover version of Randy Travis' "I Told You So", which is a country ballad. Carrie's voice is so mesmerizing i immediately fell in love with the song. Okay, i think i should stop here cause i can really find something good to say about every track. It's a REALLY good country album and every track can be considered as potential hits. Definitely value for the money!
